Bamboo Rose Names Senior Retail Leader Simon Hathway to Board of Directors

Latest board appointment brings sourcing and merchandising expertise

BOSTON — (Nov. 29, 2018) Bamboo Rose, the leading software solution connecting the retail community at digital speed, announced today the appointment of Simon Hathway to its board of directors. Based in the Netherlands, Hathway brings over two decades of leadership experience and knowledge of the retail markets in Europe to the board of directors, with expertise in buying, marketing, retail operations, and multichannel.

Having held several senior commercial roles at retailers including Sainsbury’s, AS Watson, and Wilko, Hathway currently leverages his expertise by serving as an advisor for a product innovation platform Vypr and for his own consulting business Retailise. Previously, Hathway served as a buying and merchandising director at Action Holding BV, one of Europe’s fastest growing nonfood discount retailers. There, he played a key role in nearly quadrupling the company’s sales and profit. Hathway also served as a member of the organization’s executive board, where he was accountable for the development and delivery of the overall consumer proposition.

“Simon’s wealth of knowledge and passion for the rapidly changing retail environment are invaluable as we continue to enhance our offerings to customers across the retail spectrum and build on the expansion and success of this past year,” said Sue Welch, CEO of Bamboo Rose.  “We look forward to the contributions Simon will make to our organization, augmenting the deep bench of expertise that already exists on our board and staff.”

The board appointment is part of Bamboo Rose’s ongoing mission to bring value to retailers and brands through the industry’s leading multi-enterprise product platform that connects the retail supply chain from ideation to shelf through virtual showrooms, collaborative marketplaces, global sourcing and global trade management. In addition to significant revenue growth this year, Bamboo Rose also grew its staff by more than 20 percent globally and plans to launch several product enhancements and new offerings later this quarter.

“In an increasingly digital and omnichannel world, Bamboo Rose’s platform gives companies a leg up on the competition by driving innovation through the supply chain – the true lifeblood of the retail industry,” said Hathway. “I’m excited to be involved in the organization’s continued growth and helping retailers thrive in this new and ever-changing landscape.”
